SPAA Auditions and Workshops at The Arab Theatre Festival – Casablanca

From Friday, 13 – Sunday, 15 January, SPAA will be hosting workshops at The Arab Theatre Festival – Casablanca, led by our very own Benedict Ayrton, the academy’s Programme Leader in Acting.

On Monday, 16 January, aspiring performing and production artists will get the exclusive chance to audition face-to-face in Casablanca.

Auditions will be open from Monday, 16th January 2022, 10 am-1 pm and 2 pm-4 pm.
Workshop Information
The workshops will span three days, the first two days kicking off with a session which will introduce students to SPAA’s global actor training programme and provide an overall insight into the institution. This induction will offer prospective students details of how artists training at the academy can connect and collaborate with famed actors across the region, as well as learn of the diversity of the training programme and details of day-to-day life at the academy. The introduction will then be followed by immersive and interactive performing arts workshops, where visitors will be provided with the opportunity to explore simple ensemble group work, storytelling activities, as well as contact and non-contact physical improvisation. After the two workshop sessions, there will be a creative conversation to complete the day, where more details about SPAA’sprogammes and training methods are explored, there will be a session around how to audition with SPAA and how to collaborate with the academy.
The third day of the workshop will then be an admissions day, where potential students looking to join the academy can access more information on what they offer, learn how to prepare for an audition, how to apply and what opportunities are available. Across the third day, there will be a dedicated opportunity for guests to meet and discuss collaboration opportunities with SPAA, whether they are artists, creatives, actors, designers, writers or potential students who seek interesting, engaging and fruitful opportunities with the academy. This exciting event will be part of the 13th edition of the Arab Theatre Festival to be held from 10th-16th January 2023 in Casablanca (Morocco).
