Bringing Magic to the Studio Theatre: Leslie Arden’s ‘The Happy Prince’ Delights Audiences Once More

The Studio Theatre was magic-filled as Leslie Arden brought her Chalmers Award-winning “The Happy Prince” to life again through our talented Year 3 Musical theatre students. Leslie completely rearranged her award-winning musical “The Happy Prince” for the group, as she developed the musical with them this term.

A true luminary in the world of musical theatre, whose remarkable career spans composing, orchestrating, lyricism, and teaching. Leslie has penned over a dozen musicals, including the critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning “The House of Martin Guerre”, and the Dora Mavor Moore-nominated “The Princess and the Handmaiden”. Her contributions to the theatre world extend beyond the stage, as she has also written choral works and collaborated with esteemed playwrights like Norm Foster.

From the heartfelt performance to the stunning music, it was truly a testament to her dedication and the talent of our MT3 group.

We are grateful for her guidance and inspiration throughout this journey and for the opportunity to bring her beautiful creation, “The Happy Prince,” to our stage.
