SPAA STRATEGIC PLAN 2024 -2029


To be the first performing arts conservatoire in the MENA region by:

  • Adding 2-year full-time MFAs’ in Producing, Directing, and Scenic Design, in 2024 and Choreography and Lighting Design in 2025.
  • BMus Classical and Arab music in 2026, Contemporary and Music Technology in 2027, and MMus in composition in 2028

Achieve international recognition as a renowned Conservatoire by:

  • Ensuring the integrity of the programmes and their relevance to the local, regional and international markets.
  • Connect and share best practice with top conservatoires in the world.
  • Build strong and supportive relationships with one international conservatoire.

To be at the forefront of the development of live and recorded performance in the UAE:

  • Work with the Ministry of Culture and Youth and other government agencies to create more performing arts NGOs properly funded and national rather than emirate focused. 
  • Help the alumni set up companies and encourage live performance start ups

Ensure our graduates find meaningful work in performing and production industries around the world:

  • Connect with influential industry leaders.
  • Invite casting directors and agents to the academy.
  • Ensure graduates have golden visas for UAE.
  • Assist graduates in gaining education or employment in other countries.
  • Ensure our graduates have the necessary skills to compete in international markets

Serve the performing arts community, locally, regionally and internationally by:

  • Providing Children and Young performers classes and productions, running part time programmes in Arabic in acting and performance.
  • Providing resource for visiting local, regional and international companies.
  • Creating special and ongoing relationships with professional performing and production arts companies.
  • Providing expertise, conferences and events to encourage community participation.
  • Having a strong and active cultural strategy.
