The Society of Arabic Language in Sharjah signed a cooperation agreement with Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, with the aim of receiving students and non-Arab academy cadres to teach them the Arabic language, as part of the language courses launched by the Society's Arabic Language Center, in addition to opening areas of cooperation between the two sides at various levels.
The agreement was signed at the Society’s headquarters in Sharjah, where it was signed by Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mostaghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, and Professor Peter Barlow, Executive Director of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts.
The agreement comes within the vision of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah to enhance adherence to the Arabic language, as the two sides look to provide non-Arab students and cadres of theater and performing arts with basic skills in the Arabic language, and to use its correct grammar in their work to contribute to enhancing awareness of the language, in addition to supporting the Arab theater library with texts In fluent Arabic.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Dr. Mhammed Safi Al-Mostaghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy, stressed the importance of cooperation and institutional integration between the Academy as the governmental academic institution concerned with Arabic language issues in the Arab and Islamic worlds, and the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Dr. Al-Mostaghanemi said: “The agreement is aimed at supporting the Sharjah Cultural Project, and there is a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah,” stressing that non-Arab students and cadres of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts joined the Arabic language courses launched by the complex It achieves the goals for which it was established, and also guarantees the graduation of artists in close contact with the Arabic language, which is reflected in the quality of purposeful artistic works, and at the same time makes it a contribution to spreading the aesthetics of Arabic among the public, because of the influence of art and its workers and the ability to communicate with society and communicate Positive messages in healthy and attractive language.
Professor Peter Barlow, Executive Director of the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, said: “The Academy has a responsibility towards the artistic, cultural and economic life of societies in general, as we strive to find the best means for our students and employees so that they can present distinctive and strong works from different cultures, and establish our partnership with the Arabic Language Association. The shared path to celebrate the performing and production arts in the region."
