SPAA honours UAE's 9th Flag Day

Celebrating unity, strength and an inspiring future. On Wednesday, 3 November the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) students and staff honoured the UAE with a special celebration to mark UAE’s 9th Flag Day. A beautiful version of the UAE National Anthem sung by the SPAA students themselves accompanied SPAA’s Executive Director, Professor Peter Barlow, as he raised the flag alongside three of SPAA’s own Emirati students, Ahmed Mohamed Almaazmi, Majid Al Maeeni and Mohamed Abdalla. Flag Day was first inaugurated in 2013 to celebrate the accession of, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE in 2004. With the Golden Jubilee just around the corner, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed tweeted: ""Brothers and sisters, the UAE will celebrate 50th year Flag Day November 3. We call on our citizens, organisations, and ministries to hoist the flag simultaneously on November 3 at 11:00 am to express the unity of our home and our destiny”. Raise it high and raise it proud!
