SPAA Year 4 Acting students, along with Year 3 and 4 Production Arts students, proudly present The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov. This dynamic adaptation by renowned UK playwright Simon Stephens, directed by Professor Peter Barlow, re-examines Chekhov’s timeless themes of social upheaval, memory, and loss with a contemporary edge.

Featuring evocative set, costume, lighting, and sound designs, as well as voice work by Joe Windley, this production brings a fresh energy to the classic text. Stephens’ adaptation deepens both the comedy and tragedy of this unique work, sharpening the dialogue and making Chekhov’s exploration of social and economic transformation more immediate than ever.
