- The diversity of the student population is seen as one of the Academy’s strengths and defining characteristics.
- The Academy not only celebrates but actively designs diversity. Heritage and tradition are supported and valued, and opportunities to promote and develop events designed and formed by different cultures are encouraged.
- The Academy is managed to ensure event and programme access to all sectors of the population.
- Sharjah Performing Arts Academy is where opportunities to access outstanding formal and informal performing arts education and training opportunities exist for everybody regardless of age.
- The Academy believes and demonstrates in its programming and activity that access to culture through performing arts and freedom of expression are a basic human right.

- To foster strategic links with other academies, professional companies, cultural organisations local and international,
- To encourage and facilitate effective communication within the performing arts and creative and cultural industries
- To bring about strategic links in the creative and cultural industries

- To promote a diverse range of cultural activities to serve internal and external communities
- To build regional, national and international partnerships, networks, and collaborations and develop closer links with high-profile cultural organisations.
- To make Academy facilities and activities more accessible, both physically and through better communications, to the wider community.
- To enhance the profile and quality of Academy events and activities to increase participation.
- To enhance and increase the engagement of staff in the life of the Academy by ensuring full access to all events and a stake in the creation of the cultural environment and strategy.
- To utilise the Academy as a space for the display of public art.
