Sharjah Performing Arts Academy students recently brought to life the chilling story of Scorched, written by Wajdi Mouawad. Performed by SPAA's first graduating cohort and with a production team made up of the third year students, the show expertly touched on themes of poverty, the madness of war, the need for truth and more.
Directed by SPAA’s Programme Leader for the BA Acting Programme, Benedict Ayrton said that the show almost seemed to choose them. “As a training institution, taking on challenges is a central part of what we should be doing. Our performing and production arts students, supported so well by our professional faculty, have reached far and dived deeply into their creative and technical abilities to realise what we hope will be a vital and engaging work.”
Many thanks to all staff and students who put in their effort to make this amazing piece of work come to life.
