Acting

Drama classes are based on improvisation and general stagecraft. These lessons develop acting skills through devising scenes and creating characters. Some script work will be introduced. The student will be encouraged to explore text, develop characters, use the body as a form of expression and, most importantly for an actor, interact with other members of the group.

Programme Overview

Private LAMDA (Examination Class)

We offer private tutorials in preparation for examinations from Entry level to Gold Medal in Acting and/or Speaking in Verse and Prose.

The aim of LAMDA is to:

• improve standards in communication through the spoken word
• foster an appreciation of literature, poems and drama
• acknowledge levels of achievement
• support the creative, intellectual and social development of the individual.

The examinations are designed to equip students, whatever their age or aspirations, with a range of skills that will serve them throughout life.

*LAMDA examinations are optional, however, we encourage our students to enter and benchmark their progress against an internationally applied standard in order to receive accredited certification for their efforts. Students need to complete Term 1 and Term 2 in order to be eligible for exam registration. Examination fees are NOT included in Term class fees.
