Lead Tutor - Acting and Movement

Raman holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Actor Training and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, U.K.; a Master of Arts degree (Acting) from National School of Drama, New Delhi, and a Master of Performing Arts degree in Theatre Arts (Gold medalist) from Hyderabad Central University, Telangana, India.

As an actor, Raman has performed in more than 45 major productions, collaborated with international and nationaltheatre directors, and participated in several theatre festivals, such as Camden fringe festival 2019 London (UK), UNESCO’s Asian Traditional Theatre Workshop in Beijing, China (2014), Bharat Rang Mahotsav (12th and 18th editions) in New Delhi, Rangotsavam- Andhra Pradesh (2017), Khojikode Theatre Festival- Kerala (2011) and Indian Theatre Schools Meet- Karnataka (2009). Raman was awarded the Young Artist Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and was recipient of the prestigious Inlaks Study Abroad Scholarship.

Raman has trained in numerous traditional theatre forms of India, including Kudiyattam, Kathakali, Ankyanat, Chindu Yakshaganam and Maach, as well as Tai- chi, Kung-Fu (Black Belt), Karate (Brown-I Belt), Kalaripayattu, Contemporary Dance and Yoga.

In addition to this Raman has trained in a wide range of western acting techniques, such as Constantin Stanislavsky, Michael Chekov, Meisner, Lee Strasburg, Uta Hagen, Jacques Lecoq, Spolin Demidov Stella Adler, FM Alexander, David Mamet, and Suzuki.

Raman has had the priviledge of working with eminent Indian theatre personalities, including Anuradha Kapoor, Khalid Tyabji, Tripurari Sharma, Mohan Maharshi, and eminent western theatre practitioners such as Bella Merlin, John Gillet, Brigid Panet, Ilan Reichel, Ally Cologna, Mel Churcher, Mike Alfreds, Pita Lily, Peader Kirk, Ian Morgan, David Zinder, Andrei Malaev-Babel, Gretchen Egolf and Ramiro Silveira.
