SPAA at the HCT International Conference

SPAA was honored this year to present at the HCT International Conference on Advancement in Health Sciences (ICAHS 2023) last week.

Showing how the diversification of skills learnt within the performing arts can be used across a variety of industries leading us to create opportunities in education and healthcare in the UAE. Our very own Executive Director, Professor Peter Barlow, presented along with four of our Year 3 Acting students, a workshop that proposed the use of digital storytelling and simulated clinical actors within healthcare education.

Thank you to Dr. Richard Mottershead, Assistant Professor at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, for heading up the session along with Pete Carruthers, PhD Student from the University of Central Lancashire and Artistic Director of Tree Fish Production, who presented alongside the SPAA Team.
